[It's good to know Shadow has his priorities in order, more or less.]
[There's different scents mixed in with the usual metal and motor oil, ones that make his nose wrinkle as he approaches the form of the robot.] Eugh. I guess it didn't just look more organic. Let's see...
[Since he's still playing catchup with his tech from back home, the scanner he's brought to monitor the energy readings is a bit more rudimentary — in fact, he's using a small metal baton attached to his shellphone, which he waves around the gem like a metal detector.]
Hm. There's only a little energy left in this core. But if I can amplify it, I should be able to isolate the signature... so we'd better get it out of there, just in case anything in its body draws a phantom load.
[He takes a deep breath in before reaching in to slowly and methodically pull connectors away from the core. This is a really good example of why organic and robot isn't always a great mix — since despite holding his breath, he can still smell something cooked in there.]
[It certainly something that differentiates them from Eggman's usual protocol. He would normally imprison small creatures in his creations and not...whatever made this. He huffs, irritated with himself that he would even consider to seperate this from Eggman. They're all a threat in the end.
He watches as the fox works to release the core from it's connectors. He could tell the smell was bothering him, looking over the rotting machine for a moment. So he kneels down.]
Instruct me. [The Fox should focus on gathering intel and let him handle dissecting whatever materials he would need from the machine.]
[He nods, then backs up to let Shadow act as his hands.]
All right. Please be careful, and try to avoid letting anything with body fluids interact with the exposed electronics any more than they already have. As long as there's still a power source, there's a risk of something short circuiting.
[And as if to demonstrate, a damaged part of the machine gives a small buzz and a flash of sparks. Not big enough to hurt either of them, but enough to risk further damage to the wreckage. Including the parts Tails could potentially learn from.]
Once the core's out of there, though, removing other parts should be easy. Being able to replace pieces quickly would be important for repairs... [Though that's assuming that the creator did intend to have the machines repaired, rather than treating them like expendable drones. Otherwise...? That's a chilling thought.]
[He stares at the core, recalling what the Fox was doing a moment ago. He's not concern about getting shocked himself, frying the machine though should be avoided. Carefully, he reaches within and continues where the Fox had left off. One by one, the connectors are removed from the crystal core. A few sparks will go off here and there. He waits, but the machine doesn't explode. Though these hands can destroy, he can be surprisingly delicate and patient if the task requires it of him.
Eventually, the core is safely removed from the machine, now being offered to the fox.]
